The Karlstejn Township is a part of the protected landscape area of Cesky Kras due to its location providing for trips and walks in the beautiful Czech nature. You can for example take the Karlstejn educational trail which will take you to the most interesting accessible places of the Karlstejn National Nature Reserve. You can also visit the famous Koneprusy Caves or Dub sedmi bratri (Seven Brothers Oak). You can visit the America Quarry which is only a short drive away and it is accessible by bike or on foot as well. You can drive to the Open-air Museum Solvay Quarry, to the not so distant Tetin Castle or to the Svaty Jan pod Skalou (St. John under the Cliff). Karlstejn and its surroundings offer enough possibilities for both hiking and biking. You can find many pleasant and nice biking trails in the proximity of the Karlstejn Castle and in the Cesky Kras area tempting you for a ride.

Zoopark Karlstejn

In the newly opened Zoopark in Karlstejn, you will see a number of exotic animals, including single and twin hump camels, bison, lama, zebra, French donkeys, Shetland pony. However, the main attraction of the Zoopark Karlstejn is the noble white lion Leon and the recently-born tiger cubs. In addition to the lions and tigers mentioned above, there are other feline cat species such as the leopard and black panther. And finally, the entertaining macaque - a type of monkey and ring-tailed coati - a member of the raccoon family. Children's corner, refreshment and parking available. Karlstejn Castle

Medieval Karlstejn Castle, built in the 14th century by the emperor Charles IV breathes history, magnificence but also romance literally everywhere. The tourist will be amazed by its size and smart cascade construction. The benefits of taking a trip to Karlstejn are good transport accessibility and the distance from Prague. The Castle is located only 25 km from the centre of Prague and 15 km from the Vaclav Havel Airport Prague. Besides the historical value of the caste, it can be mentioned that there is an added value and also an interesting fact that several cultural events take place on the premises of the Castle and its surroundings. Karlstejn Wax Museum

For more than ten years, Karlstejn Castle is enjoying finest company of influential person of old and recent history. For exactly that long is the museum of wax figurines, which was founded there, exists. Historical cross section through Czech statehood acquaint visitors with significant person of Czech history.
